Reid Priddy Speaks to Athletes at 949 Tryouts
Reid Priddy, the star outside hitter for the Gold Medal winning USA Olympic Men’s Volleyball Team in Beijing, spoke to the players trying out for 949 Volleyball Club on Saturday, September 13th, 2009, at San Juan Sports Park. He was introduced by his former teammate and good friend, Brandon Taliaferro, the co-founder and co-director of 949 Athletics with Justin Deblasio. Reid told the players about the importance of sacrificing personal and selfish goals for the greater good of the team, and how important learning this was for the Olympic team as they moved forward towards a Gold Medal in 2008. He also told the players that he liked how much Justin and Brandon were focusing on teaching young people life-skills that will help them beyond the volleyball court. ”These days in junior volleyball are so much fun,” he said, “and you will make friends that will last a lifetime.”To learn more about Reid Priddy, check out his website at: http://reidpriddy.com/index.html and the USA Volleyball website at: http://www.usavolleyball.org/athlete/athlete/1025
